When those horns came in, I got a chill down my spine. This is unbeliveably good. Reminds me of the Dark Knight soundtrack. Keep up the good work, for all of us who are too lazy to finish or compose orchestral music.

Yep. I came.

The harp is one of my most favorite instruments to mess around with, it's unfortunate I can't play a real one, hell I can't even afford one. I stick with east west samples. Getting an authentic melody going with a harp is hard, especially with harmonics in it. Really great voice, but it feels like it could be sung a little higher to harmonize with the harp. I really wanted it to be longer as well, the triplet chorus coming in was amazing.

etherealwinds responds:

Sorry that it's not longer!! Forgive me. Thank you for listening :)

This is absolutely amazing, from the get-go, the voice is captivating, mesmerizing, and yet very mysterious. It's a very earth shattering experience, love the harmonies and of course the guitar and harp, although very simple it gets the message across. I would love for an expanded version, maybe with fade in strings being drawn out and then some very light drums coming in to make it more epic, the singer getting more "forceful" It would be an amazing adventure.

Windows 7 I presume :), haha just kidding. Why Windows? Christmas windows, behind a starry sky, soaring snowflakes gazing in the distance, calling out to the everlasting wind of the winter solstice?

I don't know. Great job. Great imagery.

Step responds:

Windows 7 indeed! And certainly not Mac OS.

I actually have no idea why I called it Windows. Well, that's a lie. I do have an idea. I wanted to give it a vague name which leaves more room for interpretation. That being said, why I chose the actual name Windows is beyond me.

Thanks for the review!

OooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOoooohoooooo. oooh o: ho-ho. Yes :3

LunyAlex responds:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooThanks! :D

Nice self 5 :D High five!

The vocals are great, the composition too, the progression is nice and smooth but when the track actually gets going and the vocals come in, they are overpowered by the instruments, should be a bit louder and clearer, with more clarity. Maybe and EQ problem, I really wanted to hear the vocals to be on the front end, otherwise great.

viewtifulday responds:

I ducked the vocals to make the rest of the track seem louder, actually :) It was stylistic

Hmmm, the intro was great, but when the epic drums came in, the strings felt out of place, they were sad while the drums were more sincere and dramatic. It felt out of place, really, not sure how to describe it. Mixing moods can sometimes fuck you over, I know >.> from experience, otherwise everything else is great, you can hear everything nicely so good equalization. Although I'd preferred some dynamics in there since this seems like purely an orchestral track, give it more life. :)

Also varying the strings when the drums come in would be great, I feel like they repeat a bit too much, could do with some variation, would really spice this thing up a bit. Good luck!

Jittlez responds:

wow. i didnt think or hear it that way, but since u mentioned it, i hear it too... i'll defiantly work on it in the future!

Woah bro, this reminds me of post rock, almost like but with it's own unique style. Very unique. I love the little bells and synths there and here, creating a nice mellow feeling while still keeping it fresh and gritty. Great job. I don't have much of an opinion on the drums, they sound cool being sliced but otherwise, I think slicing them a bit too much constantly could get annoying for some people, maybe it's just a preference, otherwise everything else is great. Good mixing and mastering as well.

DX-Interactive responds:

Thanks, yeah I'm quite a post rock fan, but also listen to a lot of electronic / idm. I agree I overdid the drum slicing on this one! I also think the end is a bit too full as well. I've got a lot more material up at https://soundcloud.com/secheron-peak and http://secheronpeak.bandcamp.com/, the album that this song was on was released under just about the same Creative Commons license as newground's audio is, so if anyone can make use of them in games and stuff I'm all for it.

I am but a dreamer of impossible feats, of lands unknown and worlds unexplored.
